Mountains of Burma (Kachin Hills)

Mountainous frontier zones of northern Myanmar, a chronic theatre of insurgency and forced displacement since 1948. The title track of "Mountains of Burma" (Blue Sky Mining, 1990) plants these mountains as a far horizon of dispossession the song circles back to throughout.
